3SidedSingles (3SS) is a project started by a community of music producers and creator as a new way to present their work.

Finding their needs met by neither the single-shot/context-free presentation of the Internet nor the full-length/physical product presentation of traditional music distribution, this community has designed its own way to present new music.

Central to this is the 3Side, a new release format which contains three musical pieces along with artwork and other media. The goal of the 3Side is to present music in a way which is bite-sized yet multifaceted. The format has conceptual “rules” but is also extensible to encompass a wide range of audio and multimedia creativity.

The 3SidedSingles website will function as a forum at which contributors will present 3Sides from artists they select. Contributors will be encouraged to present material they are personally excited about. Every effort will be made to keep the background noise low and the integrity of the releases high. Contributors largely be people who directly helped create the music presented, as producers, engineers, writers, performers, or a combination of these.

3Sides presented at 3SS will be valued at the discretion of the rightsholders, and usage of material can be defined per-release using Creative Commons or other standards.
