Ed Ackerson - “Ackerson 2.1″

Susstones released my second solo album ackerson2 last December. We all felt that the record kinda got lost in the shuffle of the holidays, election, economic panic, etc. I’m super proud of the record, and I wanted to release a 3Side that would highlight a couple of my favorite tracks for people to check out.

Colonial Vipers Attack (now Two Harbors) - “You Pulled the Rug Out + 2″

Colonial Vipers Attack are one of my favorite Minneapolis guitar bands-powerful, noisy, melodic, but light on their feet when the song calls for it. This 3Side marks the premiere of the new model CVA featuring bassist Jeremy Bergo, along with founding members Chris Pavlich, Shawn Grider, and Kris Johnson.

As individuals these guys are all very well known here in Minneapolis- Pavlich for his City Sound rehearsal complex, Shawn for his work with Faux Jean and other bands, Kris J. for his KJaudio amplifiers and Twin Town Guitars, Jeremy for playing with Attention, the Stereo and others. I think it’s time for them to become BEST known for their damned fine rock group!

Welcome to the 3-Sided Singles project.

Welcome to 3sidedsingles.com. This project is the result of a series of conversations between me, Ed Ackerson and Paul Kolderie over the past year or so. Between the 3 of us we’ve been fortunate to be involved in music from almost every angle: as fans, collectors, musicians, songwriters, producers. As owners of recording studios, labels and digital agencies.

So this website, this whole idea is meant to do something for everyone: give listeners great music, delivered simply while also giving artists a way to show more than just one side of themselves. Give producers a forum for showcasing projects they love in a low risk way. Create a concept that can be used and extended by others.

The main “product” of this site is the 3Side. Some 3Sides may be free, others may be for sale, but any profit from these releases will go directly to the artists. We’re not creating yet another label or distribution mechanism. This site is about an idea. And it’s one we hope everyone likes and wants to participate in.
